The Blood Will Be a Sign
Greetings all, thank you for reading. My prayer is that God is blessing you this very minute.
“The Bible is a Book of blood and a bloody Book. When we are accused of preaching a gospel of blood we proudly plead guilty to the charge, for the only thing that gives life to our teaching and power to the Word of God is the fact that it is the blood which is the very life and power of the Gospel.”
This is the opening sentence of the book The Chemistry of the Blood, written by Rev. M.R. DeHaan in 1943.
It is no small fact that we are people of the blood of Christ. It is the very fact, the one and only fact that Christians, those of us who have confessed to our faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior, King, and Lord of all; are a people of the blood of Jesus.
This is not only for those who just go to church, it is not those who think it sounds interesting, or those who think they are smarter or wiser than us and can tell us what to believe, such as philosophers or divinity professors, newscasters, journalists, or even lawyers or politicians.
No, not at all. For to be among the people of the blood means that we have asked God for forgiveness of our sins. We have put our faith and trust in Jesus. God has lovingly forgiven our sins, and the blood of Jesus covers our sins. We are made righteous by the blood of Christ. And so it is proven, 2 Corinthians 5:21,
“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
It is Christ’s blood, shed on the cross for our sins that enables us access to our Father in heaven. Nothing else but the blood of Jesus.
The divine, innocent, and incorruptible blood of Jesus is our everything. Jesus is our everything. Exodus 12:12-13, on the night of the Destroyer, the First Passover. God said this,
“On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn–both men and animals–and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am the Lord. The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.”
Now fast forward to Calvary, the reason why the Lord must demand blood for the atonement of sin lies in the nature of God and in the nature of sin. Since God is perfectly and unimpeachably holy, sin can never be passed over without a satisfaction of the justice of God and since sin is rebellion against an infinite God, the Most High God, the Highest Being, only the greatest and the highest price can be accepted as an atonement for sin. The greatest and highest price is the blood of Jesus Christ.
The Church of Jesus Christ is called His body and we are members of his body and also members with one another. In this body Jesus Christ is the Head and all believers are the members. These members are related by the blood of Christ. The blood of Christ runs through my veins. The blood of Christ runs through your veins. The blood of Christ runs through the veins of millions of believers around the world.
This way we can share the victories and celebrations through the body of Christ around the world. We can also feel and share in the sufferings of the persecuted around the world. This is because the blood of Christ flows through our veins.
This is also why we can feel the pain and the associated sorrow and grief when martyrs are murdered around the globe. We can feel the loss of blood from the body of Christ.
So, for those who have to write a magazine article, or to do a take on TV, or a politician who is trying to get elected, or maybe you’re just a kid in college trying to be cool, please don’t tell me that Charlie Kirk was not a believer, or that Charlie Kirk did not die a martyr. Because I felt the loss of his blood from the Body of Christ.
Be careful what you profess, those who speak in sound bytes for social media. Because, in many of these instances, from your mouths will come the very words that will convict your souls.
No true believer will openly condemn others or wish others into an eternity of hell and damnation. It is evidence of demonic influences and activity. In other words, those who have condemned and mocked Charlie Kirk on social media and the news, thinking that they are flexing on social media accounts, will soon realize that have just announced for Linkedin and all the others, for all the world forever, that in all likelihood they are battling demonic forces and influences in their lives.
Like Mom used to say, if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.
My pastor’s take is this: Accusing those in the body of Christ of sin and wishing hell upon them is more an indication of pain and weakness and lack of faith within the speaker, rather than knowledge and piety. There is no Spirit of God in them, for if there was, they would not be speaking such foul and evil things out loud, much less on TV or social media. The first lesson in public speaking should be the realization that just because you think something doesn’t mean you should say it.
Me thinkest thou knowest not of what thou speaketh.
Mankind, as created by God, consisted of body, soul, and spirit. At the fall of Adam, man’s spirit died, and the natural man, unforgiven and unrepentant, consists of a living body and a distorted soul, essentially just spiritually dead. If he has a spirit at all, it is a dead spirit.
The people that are saying the worst things right now are not believers. What they say should have no bearing on what we do or how we behave. Because they have a dead spirit. They have a darkness upon them that grows like a cancer, creating a human being that speaks more vile things and plans evil and dangerous actions. They have become tools of Satan and they are, if anything, dangerous.
If we were not Christians, my advice would be to avoid these dark soulless creatures and go in peace and lead godly lives. But that is not God’s plan.
It takes a new creation to restore the dead spirit and bring the lost and depraved back into fellowship with God. No matter how moral, educated, refined, pious, or dignified a man or woman may be, if they have not been born again, they are children of the Devil, under the curse of God and destined to eternal separation from God. John 3:3, is where Jesus declared this to Nicodemus,
“I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.”
God’s plan involves us interacting with these people. This is just what Charlie Kirk was doing when he was assassinated. As of the writing of this sermon, 120,000 individuals or groups have expressed interest in opening up chapters of Turning Point, USA. That works out to 2400 new chapters per state. These will be filled with young people. Some of these are from countries all around the globe.
My prayer is that the death of Charlie Kirk will spark a revival, led by, of all people, the youth and young adults of this country.
The only way that a person can understand the necessity of being born again is to have someone introduce them to Jesus and his Holy Spirit.
It is coming down to battle between the dark and the light. Charlie Kirk knew this, a young man beyond his years. But we don’t fight with guns. The weapon we fight with is the Sword of Truth, the very Word of God.
Mark Bowden, author of Blackhawk Down, wrote an introduction to the reprint of Guadalcanal Diary, written by Richard Tregaskis. It is a diary of the battle for Guadalcanal, in the south Pacific in 1943. Mark Bowden wrote this in his introduction,
“The great thing about words is that they enable memory. Remembrance is the least we owe those who accomplish historic deeds.”
For many of you reading, you may think this is an insignificant line by a military historian, for an incredibly popular book that had been reprinted dozens of times.
“The great thing about words is that they enable memory.”
I love words. I love to read. Many of you also love to read. I love books, I ran a Christian bookstore for twenty years with Kristi. We love books, and the written word.
“The great thing about words is that they enable memory.”
What if every Sunday, you had to put words together to describe the Savior of mankind? In essence, this is what I do for a living, among a myriad of other things. What words would you use?
“The great thing about words is that they enable memory.”
What words would you use to describe The Deliverer, The Messiah, Savior, King and Lord of all? For this is who I want us to remember, Jesus Christ.
A great radio host, Rush Limbaugh, often said, and I’m paraphrasing here,
“People know you by the words you use.”
“The great thing about words is that they enable memory.”
What words would you use to describe Jesus?
My choice is of Jesus. Just two words, but enhanced with power in the name of Jesus.
A great start would be Jesus’ name. The name of Jesus brings forth the power of the blood of Christ. Included in, but not limited to is the power of forgiveness, the resurrection power, and the power of eternal life.
Please hear me when I say this: It is all about Jesus. This life is all about Jesus. Everything is spiritual. There are no such things as coincidences, nothing is happenstance.
The Name of Jesus.
The life of Jesus, the cross of Jesus, the death of Jesus, the resurrection of Jesus, the return of Jesus, the love of Jesus, the name of Jesus, and the blood of Jesus. Everything in this life and on this earth is about Jesus.
This is our spiritual proving ground for our eternity with God.
Our spiritual nature must grow and eventually force out the sinful nature that we are born with.
The story of Jesus is not fictional. Many would have you believe that it is. But please understand this, the Bible is a non-fiction book, meant to be read as a history of God’s relationship with mankind, a mankind that continually overthinks and second guesses everything, often drawing the wrong conclusions. In this non-fictional book is the Revelation of God to us, in the life of his Son, Jesus.
As believers, we are to be a people of miracles. Not a people of the reality of this world, but a people of miracles, a people of the Holy Spirit of God, a people desiring the fellowship of the God Most High. A people who are not embarrassed or ashamed to confess Jesus as their Savior, King, and Lord of all.
Churches today without the Spirit of God in them, will not survive. People, without the Spirit of God in them, will not make it to eternity with the Father and Son. Without the Spirit of God they will all die.
This life of ours, is meant to be all about Jesus, introducing people to Jesus, guiding them to a new spiritual birth, and eternal life.
We need to minister to those in need. The poor, the lost, the homeless, the addicted, and those that hate Jesus more than we can understand.
The last listed here, including those who martyred Charlie Kirk, it would seem we need to fight. No, we need to preach, they need to repent. We need to pray, they need to seek forgiveness. We need to forgive, they need to be born again.
Those that refuse, will not be neglected by the Lord. 2 Peter 2:1-3 & 10-13, does this not sound familiar.
“But there were also false Prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them–bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.”
“This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the sinful nature and despise authority. (Jude 8 says this, these dreamers pollute their own bodies, reject authority and slander celestial beings.) Bold and arrogant, these men are not afraid to slander celestial beings; yet even angels, although they are stronger and more powerful, do not bring slanderous accusations against such beings in the presence of the Lord. But these men blaspheme in matters they do not understand. They are like brute beasts, creatures of instinct, born only to be caught and destroyed, and like beasts they too will perish. They will be paid back with harm for the harm they have done.”
No, we are not to slander these people. We are to forgive and teach these people.
Let us pray, agree with me please.
Father, I thank you for the blood of your Son, Jesus Christ. I believe in him, and put my faith in him.
I know that I am a sinner, and I repent of my sins. Thank you for your forgiveness of my sins.
Holy Spirit, you are welcome in and around me; every second, of every minute, of every day. Teach me the Word of God and help me to witness to others.
Help me Holy Spirit to not fear and to put on the full armor of God.
In Jesus Name I pray. Amen
Do no harm, do good, and stay in love with God.
Blessings,
